Samsung Launches Surge of New QLED, Mini LED TV Tech at CES 2024 - CEPRO

Upon announcing its new Samsung 4K and 8K TV models, the global electronics manufacturer states the top priority for consumers when purchasing a new TV is picture quality.

Samsung says that along with picture quality, its latest TV products are designed to provide users with a host of premium features, including accessibility, sustainability, and network security. Highlighting the new line of products, the 2024 Samsung 4K and 8K televisions offer homeowners a choice of screen sizes, a choice of resolutions, and a number of proprietary image processing technologies. 40 Inch Smart Tv 4k

Samsung remarks that its 2024 8K Neo QLED TVs include the QN800D (sizes ranging from 65 inches to 85 inches) and QN900D (sizes ranging from 65 inches to 85 inches). These product series are powered by the most advanced Samsung processor the company has ever developed: the NQ8 AI Gen3. Samsung notes this process is designed with an on-device AI engine (NPU) that is twice as fast as its predecessor, and Samsung says it is eight times faster than the neural networks (512).

The 85-inch Class QN900D Neo QLED 8K TV is built with advanced new features like 8K AI Upscaling Pro, AI Motion Enhancer Pro, as well as Samsung’s new Infinity Air Stand, and more. Through its processing technologies Samsung emphasizes that for the first time the QN900D can upscale SD/HD content into 4K-like resolution, and 4K content into 8K with 8K AI Upscaling Pro. It’s also the first TV to support a maximum VRR of 4K 240Hz.

Samsung explains the new AI Motion Enhancer Pro analyzes what sport a homeowner is watching and helps to track the specific kind of ball with clarity, and the Real Depth Enhancer Pro maximizes Mini LED control to deliver enhanced contrast levels. Continuing to explain its Samsung 4K and 8K TV technologies, when the TV is off, Samsung says its Now+ technology can transform a blank screen into an interactive information center that professional integrators can customize to provide weather updates, home IoT updates; a family text messaging board, and a music widget for mobile music listening.

To further remove distractions, the QN900D boasts a redesigned One Connect Box with a compact U-shaped module with two ports in the back to keep it invisible to viewers. Samsung says this design element means that integrators can connect their clients’ cable, satellite box, or video game systems to the TV without unsightly wires.

Additionally, to help the products blend into a variety of home environments, Samsung’s Slim Flat Back design helps integrators to mount the TVs against walls, while its new Infinity Air Stand is made of ultra-slim and premium metal, sporting a mirror-like finish that makes the TV look like it’s floating.

Moving on to the 2024 Samsung 4K models, these products includes the new QN90D (43 inches to 98 inches) and QN85D (55 inches to 85 inches). Samsung says these 4K TV models are capable of delivering a powerful cinematic 4K experience thanks to the updated Neural Quantum Processor with 4K Upscaling. Plus, Real Depth Enhancer Pro that is said to sharpen foreground images, while improving the visibility of the main content on-screen.

For installations without external surround sound system availability, the Neo QLED 4K, Neo QLED 8K and Samsung OLED TVs are designed with Active Voice Amplifier Pro. This feature can boost dialog or key sound effects so users hear the sound exactly as the director intended for an immersive visual AND audio experience.

Additionally, homeowners can use the AI Customization Mode to optimize the picture based on the scene someone is watching.

Samsung’s OLED products for 2024 include the new S90D (sizes ranging from 55 inches to 77 inches) and the S95D (sizes span from 55 inches to 77 inches) series.

The company stresses these TVs produce high levels of contrast, vibrant colors, and high levels of brightness. Samsung asserts the S95D is the first OLED TV with OLED Glare-Free technology to let homeowners enjoy the best possible viewing experience regardless of whether the TV is in a room with ambient light or a dark room.

The thin—under 11mm S95D—features a flat-back design with attachable One Connect Box to complement any home space to make high-end architectural installations nearly turnkey, and the S95D also supports high-end gaming with a 4K 144Hz panel.

Augmenting the standard selection of Samsung 4K and 8K TVs that include several OLED models, the company, Samsung states that it is continuing its commitment to truly large-screen television products. Citing data from NPD, Samsung notes that 44% of consumers reported that when buying a new TV, homeowners wanted larger screen sizes.

To paraphrase The Kinks, giving the people what they want, Samsung in 2024 will offer more ultra-large screen options than ever, including 98-inch models in its Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLED 4K, and Crystal UHD TVs series of products.

Samsung points out that as screens get larger, their pixels get larger. For example, when looking at a 98-inch TV versus a 65-inch TV for example, it says the pixels will be 2.3 times larger. These large-screen models are AI-powered using Samsung technologies such as its Supersize Picture Enhancer, as well as its newly upgraded AI Upscaling Engine and Real Depth Enhancer Pro.

Among the many Samsung 4K and 8K products the company is rolling out at CES 2024 are the Premiere 8K projector that includes wireless connectivity through the use of the Wireless One Connect Box that transmits data as far as 10 meters (32 feet), and Dolby Atmos surround sound that’s powered by a 100-watt amplifier. Samsung says the Premiere 8K projector produces a 150-inch image from as close as 12 inches from the screen.

Other projection products include The Premiere 5 solution. This compact ultra-short throw (UST), triple-laser unit measures 7.9 inches (H) x 5.4 inches (W) x 5.4 inches (D) can be placed as close as 17-inches from a screen to produce a 100-inch image.

Additionally, Samsung will introduce The Premiere 7 and The Premiere 9 models, which it says represents the evolutions of the current Premiere LSP7T and LSP9T models. These ultra-short throw projectors feature a Quantum 4K processor and Dolby Atmos sound.

The 2024 Premiere models will also have a new feature called Lightwarp, which turns any object in the room into an interactive display surface. This is the first time projection mapping has been offered outside of the professional setting says the company. With Lightwarp, homeowners can project any content on a surface and create a customizable dashboard with widgets, like a clock or the weather.

The projector line will also newly offer Samsung Gaming Hub that enables users to access thousands of game titles without the need for a console.

Showing its muscle as an R&D company, other new Samsung 4K and 8K products that company is showcasing at CES 2024 include the latest generation of The Frame product line.

Samsung notes The Frame (2024) provides a more complete art experience while it’s off and improved picture quality when it’s on. Pantone Art Validated colors, so that every piece of artwork on display appears even more natural, and it comes with new enhancements to boost the art experience. Now with over 2,500 artworks from world-renowned museums and galleries in the Art Store, users can enjoy an enhanced Art Store experience. The Frame’s new art streaming feature gives viewers a taste of the Art Store’s diverse collection by providing them with fresh free hand-selected artworks monthly.

And an optimized art experience is available in the SmartThings mobile app so it’s even easier to upload preferred content to The Frame. Moreover, the company stresses that it is making The Frame even more energy efficient, with a new refresh rate. When enabled with Art Mode, the new 55-inch models and larger can automatically reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz.

Summarizing some of the other highlights of the new Samsung 4K and 8K products, the video products also offer:

Audio Subtitles: The on-device TV service reads subtitles aloud in real time, which can be helpful for those with low vision watching foreign language content. The software uses Samsung-engineered subtitle tracking module to consistently analyze every video frame of a movie or program to identify text in each frame. This module can differentiate text on the screen and recognizes when text is a subtitle and when it’s not to prevent the reading of non-subtitle text elements, like street signs.

Relumino Together: This feature uses Samsung Multi-View so users can enable Relumino Mode on just one side of the screen so everyone can watch TV together. According to the company, this feature builds off Relumino Mode, which enables televisions to use Samsung-developed artificial intelligence to dynamically outline the edges of on-screen elements and rebalance colors.

Smart Hub: The new Home UX makes it easier to discover content with more personalized experiences. Homeowners will notice a new tab structure with three categories: For You, Live, and Apps so you can quickly access your favorite content without needing to scroll. Users can also create profiles for up to six people so each user can enjoy customized content.

Samsung TV Plus: Samsung boasts this is a go-to source for free, premium entertainment. Using this entertainment option, homeowners can choose from hundreds of live TV channels, and thousands of movies and shows on demand. With a new user interface for 2024, the company says it is now easier to discover content. Plus, viewers can choose from 25 family friendly channels and hundreds of shows and movies on-demand. Music fans can also now stream Music, all in one place with 40-plus live TV and over 200 on-demand music videos and playlists.

Daily+: This is a platform that brings together features across SmartThings, Health, Communication and Workspace solutions. Under SmartThings, users can control and monitor all their connected tech. With Health users will find a new Workout Tracker, which is something Samsung states is the first home-workout experience built directly into Samsung TVs and monitors. With this feature integrators can connect their clients’ treadmills and sync workouts their workouts to their TVs, or homeowners can try the new F45 training from a glanceable widget on the screen. Other options include the Workspace function lets users connect to a remote PC or Microsoft 365 to use their TV as another work screen.
